How to Use your Erin Condren Planner

How to Use your Erin Condren Planner

The Erin Condren Planner that I have is broken down into monthly, then by day, then into hour slots. They have other ways to set this planner up including a teacher planner. I haven’t seen the teacher planner in person, but I have heard amazing reviews.

The main things I use my planner for my bills, having the dates laid out on my desk, putting big events on the calendar, and setting monthly projects and goals.

My 5 favorite things about the Erin Condren planner:

  1. The birthday planner insert
  2. The interchangeable covers
  3. The year at a glance in the front
  4. The size – plenty of room for to-do lists and anything else you could think of
  5. The overall look; you can pick and choose how you want the planner’s branding to be.

This planner comes with a separate birthday planner insert. This is set up so you can have it forever and not just with this one planner. I filled in the dates so that I can take this on as I change planners over the years. I picked different colors meaning different things and fill out the calendar accordingly.

I color code my planner. I pick a color for work, for freelancing, personal items, and bills. From there I will in the days that I work, when bills are due, birthdays, when I need to do certain freelance tasks, and anything else that is important. I do also use Google calendar so I do not keep every meeting in here, this is more for big dates and creating to-do lists. I will color in the times I am at work and the break down my weekly to-do list by the day (and sometimes hour). I use post-it notes to create my weekly to-do lists.

One great thing about this planner is the accessories. Besides the birthday book, it has stickers that match every occasion, a pouch to keep items in, a rule to mark the week you are on, and more. I use a mix of the stickers in marking birthdays, bills, and special occasions.

The branding of these planners is pretty customizable. Not only the cover can be interchangeable, but you can put your name on it (and school for the teachers). You have the option to customize the brand colors on the inside and the coil. The one I have has a colorful inside and a gold coil. They also have a few options including doing a binder versus a coil, an academic, teacher, lifestyle, or focus driven planner.
