8 Healthy Desserts to Get You In the Summer Mood

With summer on the way, people are all about the #BBG and the healthy lifestyle. In case you are anything like me and had to Google what #BBG means, it means #BinkiniBodyGuide well at least that’s what my research brought me to!
Now, I am graduating soon as most of you know and graduating is very stressful. When most people are stressed, they don’t eat or have to eat. I am of the latter. I tend to crave sweets or carbs, but with Summer on the way, neither are very good for me. So, here is a list of some healthy alternatives to the normal desserts and sweets you crave.
Grilled Peaches with Vanilla Ice Cream
This desert just sounds heavenly, I wish I had a grill right now to get this done. You can also bake them if a grill isn’t available. If you’re anything like me, these yummy fruit really put you in a sunshine state of mind. This reminds me of a healthy cobbler without all the guilt. If you want an even more low calorie option, you can add get Halo Top vanilla ice cream for more protein and less sugar.

Chocolate Covered Frozen Bananas
Bananas, while great in a smoothie, are also great covered in chocolate. For this you can also top it with fun toppings like sprinkles, nuts, peanut butter or even strawberries. These are the perfect healthy alternative to popsicles, so you don’t get all the guilt from those sweet treats. I think one awesome part of this dessrt are the endless options of ways you can make these. I think peanut butter banana, strawberry and banana, toasted coconut and almonds, literally the options are endless.

Chocolate Dipped Pineapple Slices
Similar to the bananas, this is chocolate dipped pineapple slices. This would be yummy with toasted coconut on top of them. You could even play around with them with toasted nuts or anything similar. I personally love pineapple, but I see them as a snack and not really as dessert. With this, it really feels like a dessert without the guilt. You can even add them to vanilla greek yogurt.

Chia Pudding
This can be made a million ways and any flavor you want. The link below has a ton of recipes with different combinations for you to try. The picture is of a Vanilla Pomegranate with coconut milk. I think Blueberry Almond is also a great combo. These are usually used as options for breakfast, but for me they feel more like dessert. I think breakfast as more of a savory meal myself, so chia pudding fits under dessert. You can also adjust the sweetness to how you like it!

Frozen Yogurt Bark
This bark is just all around yummy and fresh. It is full of agave, lemon and creamy yogurt with fresh fruit and the crunchy nuts. You can play around with the different fruit you use, what nuts, I would ad coconut, but that’s just me! I think this is great for summer because it has the all the fresh ingredients that can also be used for on the go. Pack it in your lunch for work or a long day of running errands. It’s like filling all your dessert needs without the guilt.

Greek Yogurt Parfait
The options are endless with the different flavors of yogurt, the different fruit you could add and all the different toppings. A few I would do are coconut greek yogurt, banana slices, pineapple slices, shredded coconut and chocolate pieces. Greek Yogurt is a great source of protein, probiotics, vitamin B12, potassium and calcium. It’d be silly to not be eating this with every chance you get. You could even throw in some granola, for extra crunch.
Fudgy Black Bean Brownies
Now, I know, this sounds a little gross. Black beans and brownies… together?!?! But, let me tell you. Black bean brownies are a way of the future people. They are yummy and fudgy and don’t taste like beans. They use dark cocoa and are actually pretty healthy for you. A little chocolate never hurt anybody, amiright? So, if you have never tried black bean brownies, I suggest getting your bakers cap on and get a baking!

Grilled Pineapple with Coconut Rum Sauce
This recipe is super easy and you can change it up as you want. I really don’t think you can go wrong with this one either way. It’s good to share, a beach bbq, or just as a good dessert. Pineapple is the perfect summer treat for when you’re craving something sweet. The coconut rum sauce gets that booze craving out of the way also. If you want to make it a little more healthy, use coconut greek yogurt instead of coconut cream or play around with it. Also, if you have not tried grilled pineapple, you are truly missing out.
