College Girl’s Ultimate Fall Bucket List
Fall is the perfect time of the year for fun times with friends and family and getting to enjoy nature! Get your cameras out for your favorite photoshoots, clear out your closets for your new wardrobe and get yourself ready for some fun fall activities you need to do this autumn!
Food & Drink
Drink Apple Cider
I went with my big the other weekend to an apple cider mill and had fresh apple cider (with apple cider donuts). It was so amazing, especially because it was so fresh. I took a nice half gallon home with me.
Get a Pumpkin Spice Anything
It is PSL season. Run to Starbucks and grab your favorite PSL drink. My roommate even has Pumpkin Spice seasoning for cooking purposes. One of my new favorite places to get your PSL fix is from Trader Joes! They have a little PSL in every section of their store.
Bake a Fall Flavored Pie
During thanksgiving, I always make a pumpkin and blueberry pie. I absolutely love them and I love my recipes (maybe I’ll share closer to thanksgiving).
Find the Perfect Hot Chocolate Recipe
I posted this recipe and it is amazing / healthy! I might experiment and try to find another one to share with you all! A fun addition is to add peppermint or vanilla extract.
Make Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
I love making homemade pumpkin seeds this time of year, especially if it involves making Jack-O-Lanterns! They are amazing and pretty healthy for you! It’s nice to try different seasonings on them, such as pumpkin spice!
Buy a New Fall Flannel
Lets be honest, flannels are the basic wardrobe of fall. You can tie it around your waist, wear it with a tank top when its crisp out, or even as a button up shirt. You can even treat it like a game, got to collect them all. Red, blue, mustard…
Have a Photo Shoot with Fall Foliage
Every fall, my sorority has a fall photoshoot in our quad. It is so much fun and we get so many cute pics for Instagram and Facebook. It’s a day you never want to miss. Grab some friends and a camera (you can even use your iPhone) and just throw some leaves.
Buy a New Pair of Brown Boots
My boots get destroyed every year because I live in my tall brown boots, I wear them all the time. I have a cute pair of brown booties, but honestly, brown booties are the perfect staple for going from class to shopping, to photoshoots, to food shopping.
Rock a Dark Lip
This is so perfect for fall and winter, dark lips just go with this weather and wardrobe. It looks amazing on everyone, match a dark lip with a light shirt. You can even match your lips to your maroon sweater! Don’t be afraid to mix things up.
Find the Perfect Blanket Scarf
I just bought my second blanket scarf, I got them both off of Amazon. They come in handy for watching outdoor games, keeping you warm at a desk or in class and pretty much anything. They are so cozy and double has a blanket when you’re cold, aka the name blanket scarf was born.
Wear all of the Maroon and Hunter Green Everything
My two favorite colors during winter. I think they look great with most skin tones and they just scream fall. Be basic, embrace it.
Go to a SPOOK-tacular Haunted House
This would be so much fun to do with a group of friends around halloween. I just went with my boyfriend and it comes highly recommended. The one we went to was an all night occasion full of different attractions, carnival games and rides, and food!
Cheer on your College Football Team
You can’t say it’s fall without a little football. Whether you’re watching with your friends in your dorm or you’re out on the stands cheering on, you can never get enough football fun! For your favorite college football game day activities, I suggest doing a little tailgating, maybe have a BBQ and go to the game with your favorites to cheer on your favorite team.
Go Apple Picking
This is a fall must! Get some cider, collect apples, try some donuts, make caramel apples. Apple picking is one the best things to do during fall. Don’t forget your camera for your favorite photos with all the fall colors and fun! This is a great college activity because it COSTS NOTHING unless you buy apples of course. You can spend the day wandering the fields, taking photos and laughing with ZERO money spent. There also apple orchards all over the place, so you can go explore different places and find your favorite (that’s a bucket list all on its own).
Go to a Pumpkin Patch
Fall Goal: Find a cute pumpkin(s) to bring home. This way you can have a fun day with friends and then take a pumpkin home to carve. It’s similar to apple picking and a lot of apple orchards have pumpkin patches, it’s a two-for-one bonus! Later on you can make Jack-O-Lanterns and pumpkin seeds for everyone!
Go to a Farmer’s Market
Farmer’s Markets are fun all year round, but during the fall you can try all new produce that you can put into your favorite comfort foods or try some new recipes. You get the chance to learn all about what is made locally and you get to eat and shop all fresh and handmade items. I tend to find that most of the produce you purchase is cheaper and better quality than what you can get at the store.
Go for a Hike
Hiking is perfect anywhere you are! In the fall you can get your exercise in, enjoy nature and the fall foliage, and you get to enjoy the company of your hiking buddy. Find a warm(ish) weekend and get out there!
