Summer Beauty Essentials

Summer Beauty | Sunkissed

I love summer! It’s my favorite season and that’s not just because my birthday is during it! I love the effortless style, the sun kissed look, and the way the sun is never gone for too long. The beautiful beach look is always in style during this fabulous season and your makeup is never heavy.

During this season, makeup is not even a question. You want light makeup and beauty products that make your sun kissed skin shine. (I have personally tried all of the products that I mention in this article)

With all this summer sun, you should have SPF on at all times! You should be wearing SPF chapstick, lotion, even makeup. One of my favorite sunblocks is the Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen Sheer Touch Broad Spectrum Sun Care Sunscreen Lotion – SPF 30, 8 Ounce. It is a whole new level of sunblock and it has a fragrance that doesn’t smell like normal sunblock. It makes the beach smell like you’re in the Tropics instead of on the East Coast. A new sunblock I have come across is the Rodan + Fields Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ Sunscreen. This is the sunscreen that you want to put on every morning, even if you aren’t going to the beach! It has antioxidants vitamin E and green tea  to provide additional protection from free radicals and even licorice extract and mulberry to help brighten dull skin. It has defense against UVA and UVB radiation, which is what you need all year long.

|Hair Oil|
As I have mentioned in a previous article, I live off of hair oil. I have rub in oil and spray in oil that I use on a daily basis. During the summer, your hair might need the extra TLC as it has to deal with washing it more often, due to going to the beach and sweating in the heat, and humidity. While my hair is one of the few that thrives off humidity, you need a little extra vitamins to keep in nourished and to keep it fighting the battle against that heat.

|Skin Scrubs and Pastes|
Currently, I use two different face scrubs. One is a all-natural scrub that I purchased in Belize and you can only get in Belize. The other is a not so aggressive scrub, St. Ives Naturally Clear Blemish and Blackhead Control Scrub, Apricot, 6 Ounce. I have been using St. Ive’s for as long as I can remember and my mom did before me. I think they make amazing products and it does quite well on keeping my skin looking amazing. I tend to switch back and forth between the two of those products! A new product I have started using is the Rodan + Fields Micro-Dermabrasion Paste. It was designed to enhance your skin’s radiance. It had vitamin C and E and uses salt and sugar granules to really help get a polished look.
